How to make music sound muffled
That “muffled” sound is what music does when something solid sits between you and the speaker. You can recreate it in a few seconds without any audio software.

Walls, doors and floors block high frequencies much more than low ones. Cymbals, vocals and the bright parts of a mix fade away, while the bass and kick drum still come through.
You also hear a little of the room the music is in: a short echo off the walls, and everything gets quieter and a bit squashed. Get those three things right (less treble, some echo, lower volume) and a song sounds like it’s in the next room.
How to do it
Choose a song
Drop an MP3, WAV or M4A file on Hidden Party Echoes, or start with the built-in sample.

Export it
Download an MP3 or WAV, or make a video for TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
Tips
- Want it more muffled? Open Fine-tune and drag Wall thickness toward Concrete.
- Want it to sound far away instead of behind a wall? Try Distant concert, or turn up Distance.
- For social posts, 15–30 seconds works best. Long songs automatically get a “Best 30 sec” option for videos.
